Wii Fit

For Christmas this year I really wanted a Wii Fit. Jared tried to be really sneaky in getting it for me. His parents went to RC Willey one night and he got it ordered over the phone and told me I couldn't go with him when he went to pick up my present. Well the next day he decided I could go but would have to wait in the car. We got to the store and he told me I could go in but I couldn't go up when he paid for it. As we were looking at car stereos the salesman who Jared talked to on the phone the night before came up and started talking to Jared, as the conversation goes on Jared says "You helped me on the phone last night about a present" he tells the guys his name and the guy says "Oh yeah, for the Wii Fit". SO I knew about my present in October and Jared and Polly (his Mom) tried to tell me that they took it back to the store, which of course I never believed. My big gift this year was my Wii Fit and I love it! It is so fun to use and hopefully it will get me Fit! Jared laughs when I get on the board at the lack of my coordination!

For Christmas Eve we went to Jared's parents house for dinner and presents. They always have pizza which I think is awesome!
On Christmas we went to my Grandma & Grandpa Bruin's to visit them and get our presents & then off to my Mom's and Step Dad's with the family. This was a picture my Mom took of my Brother and his wife (baby Breda is in there too..snug in her Mommy's tummy) and my Sister and her husband and of course Jared and I. We had a good time there opening more presents and eating and talking. Afterward we went back to Jared's parents for our tradition of Prime Rib for dinner..it was yummy! We had a great Christmas and we hope you did too!

Merry Christmas!

We hope you have a very Merry Christmas. We are thankful at this time of year for the birth of our Savior. May you be blessed in the upcoming year!

We got over a foot of snow yesterday, it snowed all day long! Our nice neighbor came and helped me clear off our driveway otherwise I would have been out there for hours. It was a crazy snow day where we got a ton of snow and Davis County maybe got 2 inches! It is weird how that works. We will have a White Christmas this year for sure.

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Jared sent me this email..you will have to click on it to see what any Man would want for Christmas!

Friday, December 19, 2008

Last weekend our computer crashed. We had to get a new hard drive from Dell..luckily we were under warranty still so it was all free. It seems like forever since I have had a computer to type on..I think I had withdrawls!

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

We have officially know each other for 5 years..well really it was December 8th..that was our first date 5 years ago! We went out to dinner at the Macaroni Grill...Jared got valet parking I am sure just to impress me, afterwards we went and saw the lights on Temple Square, and went for hot chocolate. I really can't believe that was 5 years ago, times sure moves fast. We have had some great times together and some not so great times..as long as we are together that is all that matters!

Annual Shopping Trip

I went yesterday after work shopping with my Mom, Grandma and Aunt Sarah. We go every year. They were busy shoppers by the time I met up with them. We went out to lunch and to the mall and target to get a few things! Those places were packed...I can't believe how many people were out shopping I guess Christmas is only 20 days away..it is coming fast! My Aunt Sarah was pushing my Grandma in her wheelchair and dancing to the music..it was a funny sight to the people around, she cracks me up! I love the annual shopping trip that we always make in December, I hope that is one tradition that continues!

Monday, December 1, 2008

Our Christmas tree has been up for about a week now. Jared brought all of the stuff upstairs last Monday, so I put up the tree and all the rest of the decorations. I love this time of year, it is my favorite!

Last year Jared found this Santa & Reindeer set for me at Costco. I put it on our mantel with some cotton for snow..I think it is pretty cute!

Thanksgiving & Black Friday!

This year for Thanksgiving we went to my Mom and Step-Dad's house. It was nice to be with family we haven't seen for awhile. My Grandparents were there as well as my Mom's sister and Brother. We also had my Step siblings and their kids and my sister and her family. We had some good food! I love Thanksgiving food..green bean casserole is one of my favorites (and mashed potatoes and gravy)!
After we went to Jared's parents for dessert. His sister and her family arrived yesterday afternoon just in time to eat! They are moving to Utah so they will be staying at my In-laws for awhile. It will be fun to hang out with them.
Then once again we decided that we would go out with all the crazy people and shop on Black Friday. I really didn't see much in the ads this year but Jared's Mom had a few things she wanted to get...so I met her at Walmart at 5:00. We went to a few stores and then out to breakfast at I-hop. No almost fights this year so that was good! Tonight we are going to a hockey game with Jared's sister and her family..should be fun!

WE hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for all of my blessings, my family, my friends, and all that I have!

Twilight

We went and saw "Twilight" today. I have to say I really enjoyed it. I thought that they cast everyone perfectly. I was a little bit worried about the Edward part but he really grew on me as the movie went along and I ended up liking him in the end. I can't wait for the next one.
We also went over to Kim & Rochelle's- who are really good friends of my In-laws- to watch the BYU vs. Utah game! Jared and I were about the only Ute fans there..it was a good game, which I can say because Utah won! It would have been fine if BYU won too but now Utah has a 12-0 record!

Yummy Cheescake

Last night was my monthly Girls Night Out. We were going to go to a movie..but nothing even sounded like it was worth seeing, so we skipped the movie and went right for dessert. We went to the Cheesecake Factory. That place is so yummy and it is even better when you are there with a bunch of girls. We had a great night, lots of talking and laughing. I didn't get home until 11:00! I look forward to Girls Night every month. I love it!

A trip to the dentist

About a year and 1/2 ago I had some root canals done on my two front teeth..there is a long story behind all of this (I knocked out my two front teeth in 9th grade- they were put back in and I have since had crowns on them), there was an infection in my gums which was why I had the root canals. These past few weeks I have had a pain in my gum that just wouldn't let up. I went into the dentist today and he told me there was another infection that had moved higher up into my gums and into the root of my tooth. He went into my gums and dug out the infection in the root and around it, leaving me with stiches in my gum. I got some lortab so I will be in lala land tonight! I am praying that this infection will clear up and there is not a break in the root..so he doesn't have to pull my teeth and get inplants instead...I told Jared we could just have me be with no teeth and we could move to Oklahoma were we would fit in! Say a prayer for me that we don't have to do that!

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

As it turns out there is some type of virus going through our school. The only way they know to kill it is to disinfect the whole school and let it sit for a few days. Which means we have Thursday and Friday off...the only bad news is I have to go to the dentist tomorrow to have one of my teeth (that has had a root canal) looked at, I am not looking forward to that one bit! Hopefully it won't be horrible news..cross your fingers for me!

This was the day from _____ at work! Let me tell you how it went...about 9:00a.m. the teacher I work with went to the bathroom and threw up, she went home about 9:30. Then one of the boys in my class told me that the didn't feel good..we called his Mom about 5 mintues later he threw up on the classroom floor. We were in the middle of music but they had to come and clean the room so we went outside for about 30 minutes, then we ate lunch in the other 2nd grade class and went back outside to recess. During the reminder of the day 6 more kids came and told me that they didn't feel good so they all went home. The other second grade teacher and her TA also went home sick!!! Needless to say I will be washing my hands every five minutes! It was just one crazy day at work today!

4 years!

I can't believe we have been married 4 years..some days it feels like forever and some days it feels like we just started out. I for one love being married..I hope Jared does too. I know some days marriage is hard but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love you Jared! Happy Anniversary!

Today was nothing like it was on our wedding day..it rained ALOT that day, but the rain didn't start until after our pictures were taken, as you can see by the sky! It was still a great day!

GNO and Family Birthday party

For our Girls Night this month we went to brand spankin new Olive Garden in American Fork. It was about a 45 minute wait for 12 of us but the food was so worth it. We went over to Paradise Bakery to wait out the time and just chatted. Or as I should say I listen to all the girls chat. I wonder if they think I don't talk! I talk a little bit but not as much as I should. I will work on that I promise! We had a great time..it is just fun to go out for a night.

The next night I went up to my Mom's house for the Sept/Oct/Nov birthday party. We had some great Taco Soup that my Mom made and her fabulous sugar cookies. I also got the present for my Birthday that I have been waiting a month for...a Food dehydrator! I am not sure that I will be able to make all the awesome looking food shown in this picture but I sure will try!

Fall Break

This year for Fall Break I went with my sister Krista, Trent my Brother-In-Law and their two kids Treyton and Braelyn to visit my Dad and Step Mom Deb in Mesquite. We left on Thursday afternoon and came back today. It was a fun weekend adventure! We were able to see my cousin Anaika that lives in St. George going to school and my Uncle and Aunt that moved down to St. George a year ago. We had a fun time going to the park and out to dinner with them. I think it was a fun weekend away..but I am glad to be home, and I have one more day until school starts back..I think that will be spent doing laundry and cleaning the bathrooms! Fun Stuff! Thanks Dad and Deb for letting us stay and Thanks Krista & Trent for letting me come along! I had a great time. Of course I forgot my camera..I even checked the batteries before we left and we off without it!

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Just wanted to add an update on our stop and waste mess. Jared along with Clint our neighbor dug out the hole to get to the thing like 6 feet under ground. Jared's Dad got back into town at just the right time to fix the problem. It was a quite a scene in our front yard. I can't believe how much dirt came out of the hole.

Tomorrow begins Fall break for the school. I am excited to go with my sister Krista and her family to my Dad's house in Mesquite for a few days. Jared has to work so he is staying home once again. Hopefully it will be a fun weekend.

October snow!

This is what we woke up to on an October morning..I did say October! I was wondering this morning if we fast forwarded to the middle of November! The weather this year has just been crazy. Later this week we will be back into the high 60's. We had to turn on our furnace and we got the fireplace all ready to go. I guess I should go and pull out my pretty flowers..I am not sure how well they do in the freezing cold..and as you can see they got a good covering of snow.

If it isn't one thing than it is another. I tell you maybe being a homeowner isn't always very fun. Yesterday we had a flooding problem in our front yard. Jared thought it was a sprinkler pipe that had broken, as it turns out it is the Stop and Waste which is like 6 feet underground..which means Jared is going to have to dig out all of the dirt to get to it. The good thing for us is we could turn it off just were it meets the sprinklers so we still have water to our house..otherwise we would be living at Jared's parents for the next week, because we would have no water to our house!
We are getting tired of all the problems we have had in the yard. A few of our neighbors have had the same problem so luckily our neighbor is willing to help Jared fix the problem since he has fixed his before!
All is can say is "What were they thinking when they put the sprinkler system in?"-I think they just got it done as fast as they could without taking the time to do it right and now we have to go back and fix all of the problems..oh what fun!

My Birthday is here again?!

Yesterday was my Birthday. They sure feel like they come quicker each year, it feels like I just had a Birthday. I have had a great couple of days to celebrate my Birthday this year. On Wednesday night I had my monthly Girls Night Out and we went to get pedicures and afterward we got ice cream. It was fun to just hang out and talk.

On Friday I had to go to work like usual but the kids were really cute and sang me Happy Birthday and then they all made me some cards. Jared got me some balloons and a really cute card (he found an Anniversary card in the Birthday card section and got that one..it is really cute it plays music..he noticed it said "Happy Anniversary" when he got it home.

We went to dinner last night at the Brick Oven in Provo and then we went to see the new movie "Eagle Eye" which was really good. I have had a great couple of days celebrating my Birthday this year

Friends

I have some great friends in my life. They have really been a blessing to me. I was talking to my friend Tifany on the phone the other day and I was asking about her 5 year old and if she had started kindergarten..she just missed the cutoff. I told her it is might be better anyway because next year she will be one of the oldest in her class not one of the youngest like I was. But as we continued to talk I realized that if I would have been held back a year I probably wouldn't have had the friends I did throughout my childhood. I would have been a year behind all of them. Yes I know I would have made other friends, but my experiences might have been very different. I wouldn't have been friends with the people that drove me around all of my sophomore year..since I didn't turn 16 until I was a junior! I would probably not have met some of my friends..they would have been seniors instead of juniors when I entered High School.

I am still friends --good friends--with some of the girls I went to High School with..we did some fun stuff...like going to Cedar City to the Shakespearean Festival or them setting me up on blind dates--that didn't turn out so great! True I don't see them as often as I should but we do keep in touch..and we have little things here and there that we all go to...like lunches or BBQs. And I am also grateful for the new friendships that continue to grow. I am just grateful for friends old and new that have been such a blessing to me!

The picture of my friends and I is a few years old..they have all had a few more kids since then! Melinda and Tifany have had a baby girl within the last two days--Congrats to them!

Broken window

We got our first window break from a golf ball yesterday. I could totally understand it if the window was broken in the back of my house..but no..it was broken in the front of my house. Let me explain, we have 3 windows right in our entry way and the middle one was hit. We were both at work when it happened and I saw it when I was out front looking at a bag of dirt Jared's Dad brought over. It is crazy how bad golfers really are!! Jared has also been sick - we went to the Doctor last night- he has bronchitis..which is never good. SO he of course was not in a happy mood. I think that the golfer that broke the window should be happy that my husband was not home at the time!

Fun Day Out

I had a fun afternoon with my Mom & Grandma today. I met my Mom at the Trax Station after she rode it in from Davis County. We then headed to my Grandma Bruin's house where my Mom gave me a haircut. You would think that because my hair is short it is great for a long time..not the case. I get it cut almost every month and my wonderful hair stylist is my Mother! She does a great job..I don't like going anywhere else because they just mess my hair up. Anyway after I got my haircut my Mom, Grandma and I went out to lunch. We went to Paradise Bakery. I have never been there before, it was so good! I got a Turkey Cranberry sandwich and a bowl of soup..good stuff!

Then we went to see "Mama Mia". I actually really enjoyed this show! I know what you are thinking (Uncle Rich) "She is such a weirdo!" But it was cute and funny. I think that is one movie I will probably buy! It wasn't really what I was expecting! We had a fun day out with the Girls!

Ty & Mare

When I met Jared he had these good friends..Tyler & Marilyn. They have just been such good friends to the both of us. Tyler was the Best Man at our wedding..his Dad died the morning of our wedding & He was still there for us! They moved to California shortly after his Dad died to take over the business but we still keep in contact with them and they visit when the come to Utah. Yesterday afternoon Jared gets a call from Tyler telling him that they are in the airport coming through Utah on there way to Idaho to visit Tyler's family. Jared invited them to stay with us last night. They met us at Polly & Jerl's for dinner..since Polly & Jerl love them too! They had a good visit with them and then we headed to our house for the night. We decided that we would play the Wii...we had so much fun! We all started bowling, which lead to boxing (I haven't laughed so hard in awhile) and finally we played Mario Kart..I am sure they are going to have to buy a Wii when they get home. We stayed up until midnight talking & playing..it was just a great time. We are glad that they called us up on short notice..they are welcome here anytime! We are lucky to call them friends, we love you guys! Hopefully we will see you in February...Disneyland here we come!

Birthday wishes!

WE would like to wish a Happy Birthday to our niece Crenna, and Jared's Dad Jerl is also celebrating his birthday today as well, and my Uncle Rich..whose birthday is tomorrow! We love you all and hope you have great Birthdays!!

Today was not such a good day at work. The teacher I work with was sick so it was just me. Everything was fine until lunch time. The kids eat in the classroom, which means we have to heat up lunches in the microwave if they bring something to warm up. I was helping to get the other kids their lunches and one of the little girls put a Cup o' Noodle in the microwave without water in it. The Styrofoam started to melt..which made this really horrible smell fill the classroom! The whole school could smell it! We ended up eating outside today, which was fine by me! I love to be outside when the weather is good. After lunch we came back in and one of the boys tried to stand up by pulling on our book shelf, which isn't anchored to the wall. It somehow fell (not all the way down of course) and he got a nice bump on his head! I called him Mom to let her know he had this nice bump and we had put ice on it, and she was just fine..no worries! I hope that the Teacher is back in school tomorrow!

Greek Festival

Every year in Salt Lake there is a Greek Festival..this year was the 33rd year- it runs from Thursday night thru Sunday. My brother Jeff loves to go every year and get some good food. We went today with Jeff & Becca and some of their friends from work. My brother loves it so much he went yesterday for his lunch break as well. They have these long lines that you make your way through to get to the food. It is worth the wait! We had a good time and ate some awesome food while we were there. It was fun to go with Jeff & Becca- thanks for the invite! I could not believe the amount of people that were there..it was crazy!

Labor Day & More

For our Labor Day we went to breakfast with Jared's family...parents, Aunts & Uncles, Cousins, even his Mom's cousins came. We all went to the Belgian Waffle House in Murray. It was a nice little get to together and a fun thing to do on Labor Day. Afterwards I made Jared take me to Quilted Bear, and he took me to RC Willey. That evening we had dinner at his parents house. It was a great day off!
.

This is Charlotte- she is a spider that is on our back porch. Jared named her before he found a few other spiders, including black widows and decided that she need to die as well...I don't think he has gotten around to taking care of her just yet!

And we got Missy a new bed for outside. She thinks it is a great toy and has been seen caring it around the yard. The only problem is she leaves it out on the grass for the sprinklers to get it all wet. I don't think she likes that too much.

Park City

Yesterday we decided that we would go to Park City and do a little bit of shopping. I am always complaining to Jared that I have no clothes for work so he bought me quite a few new things. We went to Nike- where Jared was looking for shoes but couldn't find any..15's are hard to find, but I did find a pair that I liked. At Old Navy I got 3 new pairs of Capri's and a few new shirts. We got some good deals at Eddie Bauer as well. After shopping we decided that we would go to Main Street in Park City for dinner at the Red Banjo Pizza place..the pizza is really good there. They had Main Street blocked off- which we weren't aware of going up there- for a Mustang Car Show, all of Main Street was lined with Mustangs. This was probably the highlight of Jared's day. It was fun looking at some of the cool cars. We had a good time with Jared's Aunt Donna who is here visiting from Alaska. There were a lot of people in Park City yesterday..I think it was because of the Car Show and Swiss Days in Midway but even with all of the people we had a good time!

Fresh Veggies!

My In-Laws have such an awesome garden. They always have more produce then they know what to do with..which is great for us. This year we have had tons of cucumbers fresh from the garden which I love! They are so good that way. We also decided that we would make fresh salsa with all of the tomatoes. My Mom is going to come out in a few weeks and help me can some for the winter months, which won't be as good because it won't be fresh but better than store bought stuff. One of the reasons I love summer is because of the fresh veggies...and we sure have had a lot of them! Next summer Jared said he would make planter boxes for our back porch so I can try and grow some veggies too...that should be fun!
