Jared hurt his knee a few weeks ago. Last week he went and had an MRI done. We had to go in on Thursday to get the results, which meant I had to leave work early. When that happens all of the kids want to know why. So I told them I was going to the Dr. with Jared because he hurt his knee. As it turns out he need no surgery just physical therapy (and some exercise which I need too). One of the girls in my class was so worried about him she went home and told her family that the bad part of her day was "Mr. Young hurt his knee". Today this girls Mom came up to me and asked how Jared is doing. I told her that he is fine, he just need physical therapy. The Mom told me that her daughter has been praying for Jared that he would get better. It almost made me want to cry! I told Jared that his knee is feeling better because of prayers from an 8 year old.

Book Tag

I was tagged by Lindsay.

Pick up the nearest book to you.

Turn to page 123 and post the fifth sentence.

Then tag 5 friends.

The book I picked up was our last book club selection "Austenland" by Shannon Hale. It was a really fast read and a great book. If anyone wants to read it let me know and you can borrow my copy. The girl in this book is obsessed with Mr. Darcy from Pride & Prejudice, and her Aunt leaves her this trip to a resort called Austenland.

And the fifth sentence is:

"Even so she was hoping it was Mr. Nobley. Instinct urged her to stomp on the hope. She ignored it. She was firmly in Austenland now, she reminded herself, where hoping was allowed."

I tag: Lyndsey F. (if you have time), Karin, Megan, Kristin and Jennie

How about them Jazz??

Do you remember awhile back when I said we got Jared a Jazz jersey to wear to a game? Well that game was last night. We had tickets on the 13th row center court. They were awesome seats! We went with Mike and his wife (Jared works with Mike) and we had a great time. The Jazz played awesome beating the Clippers from the beginning. They won by 20 points.
One cool thing about the game- During the beginning of the 3rd quarter we saw President Monson and his wife walking to their seats on the opposite side of the arena straight across from us on like the 5th row! He must be a Jazz fan. He was stopping by shaking peoples hands! It was pretty cool to see him there.
We had a fun night, and getting free tickets was great! Jared had a really good time, and he was finally able to wear his jersey! A few weeks before the game we even bought me a Jazz shirt too!

March Girls Night

Last night was the monthly Girls Night Out. We had a great time, this month we went to a movie which we decided on when we got to Amanda's house. We went to see "Penelope" which I had heard a little bit about but had no clue what the movie was, and knew Jared would not go to that one so it was a good pick for last night. It actually was pretty cute.

After the movie we went to Chili's and had some good food and a fun time talking - or in my case listening! It was fun to go out without the husbands & kids (everyone there has kids but me). Jared called me about 10:30 and said "Are you coming home tonight?" We didn't even get home until 11pm so it must have been a really good time! I can't wait until next month!

Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend wasn't too exciting. I had to work on Saturday at the "Annual Easter Egg Dive" at the Aquatic Center. Really this is one of the funnier events that is put on each year. They have kids from age 5-12 come ready to get in the pool. They split them into age groups and then they throw plastic eggs into the pool and the kids jump in and retrieve the eggs. After they have the eggs in their mesh bags they take them into a prize redemption room and get prizes for every egg they receive. The kids have a fun time! It really is a fun event and I like working at it every year.
Sunday we went up to my Mom's and Joe's in Syracuse for dinner. My Grandparents and my sister and her family were there. My brother on the other hand is on a 10 day trip in Europe with his wife so they couldn't make it! We had a great dinner and it was fun to play with my niece and nephew who I don't see enough. IT was a good weekend!

On another note- we bought our tickets to Cabo....for Maya's baptism- in May! I can't tell you how excited we are to go! I think we are spoiled.

Our new toy

We finally found a Wii. We started looking for one in January after everyone told us how fun they were, but there were sold out everywhere. Jared saw a Target add that said they had some so we went over to the one on in West Jordan. Of course they had sold their last one 5 minutes before we got there. They called the store in Sandy and they had 3 or 4. So we rushed right over there and got one of the last ones. It has been fun. We had Jared's parents over tonight for dinner and his Mom was bowling, Sam (one of our friends) and his girls came over and they were bowling and playing baseball. We had a fun time! I did pretty good at bowling, better then I could ever do in a real bowling alley.

Jared even bought me a new game before he came home from work tonight, but he didn't let me play it long--he wanted to bowl! His Mom was having fun trying to figure it out. By the end of the night I think she got it. Sam's girls had a good time too. Kenzie was great at bowling, it was a fun time!

I love to see the bulbs coming up out of the ground, and the grass underneath all of that snow. That means Spring is just around the corner, right? YEAH!!!

Jazz on the Big Screen

Last night Jared decided that he wanted to go to dinner and watch the game at the "SkyBox". It is located at the Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City, across the street from the Energy Solutions Arena where the Jazz play. It was away game though so the Jazz weren't actually playing there last night. It was a fun time, we got into the stadium room where there is a massive screen to watch the game. I think just about everyone there was watching the game and cheering when the Jazz did something great. Our server turned out to be a girl that I went to High School with and haven't seen for 10 + years. I never see anyone I know and I have lived here my whole life. Jared on the other hand grew up in California and every time we go out he knows someone- it is amazing to me! Anyway the food took forever to come out, which was fine since we were there for the game anyway, but it was really good once we got it. We even ordered dessert- which we hardly ever do! Overall it was a great night, and the Jazz won!

Birthday Party

My Mom and Step-Dad Joe decided that every three months we would get together and celebrate 3 months of birthdays. The first party that we had was yesterday and we celebrated January- March birthdays. There are just too many of us now to have one party for every single birthday. We went to the Aquatic Center where my Mom works so everyone could go swimming. They have a fun party room that we rented and brought in our own pizza and salad. We also had some yummy jello cake and ice cream. My sister Krista has a birthday this month- on St. Patrick's Day so her birthday was one we celebrated.

Jared and I decided against swimming since we were going shopping afterward. Jared had a good time feeding Braelyn our niece some ice cream, she is 10 months old and loves to eat. Unlike her big brother Treyton, who is the pickiest eater around (except when it comes to something sweet like cake and ice cream). It was fun to spend a few hours together.
After the party we went to the mall so Jared could find himself a Utah Jazz hat. We left the store with not only a hat but hoop shorts and a "Boozer" jersey. We are going to a Jazz game in a few weeks so now he has something good to wear. He was pretty excited about that.
