Balloon Rally

My Step Dad & Mom have a cabin up by Panguitch Lake. Every year in Panguitch they have a Hot Air Balloon Rally. This year my Mom & Step Dad decided it would be fun to have all of the kids and grand kids come up. Jared had to work and Trent (my brother in law) had to work so Krista (my sister) and I decided we would go and take her kids with us. It was a good little weekend adventure for the two of us. We left on Thursday afternoon and drove down to the cabin with a stop at the Beaver Cheese Factory. On Friday we drove the hour or so to Cedar City to meet my Dad & Aunt Jeanne for lunch. IT was fun to see them both--we had a good time eating and talking! Afterwards we went back to the cabin and just hung out and played some games. On Saturday we hung around the cabin until after a great dutch oven dinner. All 19 of us drove to Panguitch to see the Balloons. It was really neat to see them all lite up and floating. The kids didn't like the flames of the balloons so much. Overall it was a fun weekend!

Babysitters

My sister Krista and her husband Trent decided that they wanted a night away for their anniversary. They asked Jared and I to watch their two kids for them overnight. We started Friday night with the parade in Bluffdale which went down the street Jared's parents live on.
I could not believe the amount of candy that was thrown at us. We filled up two bags! After the parade we brought the kids back home and tried to get them ready for bed. Treyton is 3 (his birthday is in a few weeks) and Braelyn is 14 months. On Saturday we went over to the park by our house and let Trey play a little bit. Braelyn just played on the grass.
Then we just hung out at our house and watched cartoons. It was fun to spend some time with both of them. They are great kids--of course I am not biased at all!!

Ticket

We went on our Field trip today down to the Energy Solutions Arena for a tour. We can't park in the underground parking at the Gateway because we have a little short bus that we drive plus 3 mini vans that have been rented for the summer. We have to find free parking on the west side of the Gateway. We all got parked in spots that were free and I was parked just fine. We come out to find that there is a parking ticket on the van that I drove. The rental company rented us a van with expired license plates! Oh how nice of them! This one wasn't my fault..so I don't have to pay!

Tomorrow it is back to work for me. I have been off these past 2 weeks, which has been nice but a little bit boring. Our TV went out a few weeks ago, we had a warranty on it from when we bought it so someone was sent out to repair it. The problem was they didn't know the problem so they had to take out the "guts" of the TV to their shop to fix it. We are now going on 3 weeks..for me that is a long time. No Wii playing time! When it first happened Jared told the guys at work (joking of course) "How am I suppose to talk to my wife for two weeks with no TV around? Our house is going to be boring!" It isn't like we don't have any TV because we have one in our room but it is just not as convenient I guess. SO this week they are suppose to be coming to put it all back together. I will admit our house has been nice and quiet, but...I hope it works!

So I saw this on another blog and thought it was pretty interesting..sounded like me when I did the personality test so I put it on our blog. About 1/2 hour later I get a call from Jared at work and he says this to me "What the hell (sorry!) is on your blog? Are you smoking crack? What does ISFJ even mean?" Apparently one of the guys at work was checking out the blog..which he does often and they had a good laugh out of this post..so for your enjoyment-

The Grass is Great!!

The grass is done! We worked last night until dark trying to get it finished and it looks great! A big thanks goes out to Jared's Dad & Mom, our great next door neighbor Clint and my brother Jeff for their help in moving and laying the sod. Polly & I moved moved maybe 1 1/2 pallets before Jared got home from work (out of six) and Jared and Clint did 4 pallets in a few hours! It is great to have lawn! Thanks again for all of the help!

So Saturday should be the day for laying sod in our backyard. Jared's Mom & Dad have a very nice landscaper that used to be in their ward. He ended up getting us the sod through the same company that wanted to charge us more..and the price is the same as before- go figure! Anyway the sod should arrive tomorrow afternoon and Saturday will be a big party at our house! IT will be so nice to have grass instead of mud every time it rains..I hope the weather cooperates!
