My Birthday is here again?!

Yesterday was my Birthday. They sure feel like they come quicker each year, it feels like I just had a Birthday. I have had a great couple of days to celebrate my Birthday this year. On Wednesday night I had my monthly Girls Night Out and we went to get pedicures and afterward we got ice cream. It was fun to just hang out and talk.

On Friday I had to go to work like usual but the kids were really cute and sang me Happy Birthday and then they all made me some cards. Jared got me some balloons and a really cute card (he found an Anniversary card in the Birthday card section and got that one..it is really cute it plays music..he noticed it said "Happy Anniversary" when he got it home.

We went to dinner last night at the Brick Oven in Provo and then we went to see the new movie "Eagle Eye" which was really good. I have had a great couple of days celebrating my Birthday this year

Friends

I have some great friends in my life. They have really been a blessing to me. I was talking to my friend Tifany on the phone the other day and I was asking about her 5 year old and if she had started kindergarten..she just missed the cutoff. I told her it is might be better anyway because next year she will be one of the oldest in her class not one of the youngest like I was. But as we continued to talk I realized that if I would have been held back a year I probably wouldn't have had the friends I did throughout my childhood. I would have been a year behind all of them. Yes I know I would have made other friends, but my experiences might have been very different. I wouldn't have been friends with the people that drove me around all of my sophomore year..since I didn't turn 16 until I was a junior! I would probably not have met some of my friends..they would have been seniors instead of juniors when I entered High School.

I am still friends --good friends--with some of the girls I went to High School with..we did some fun stuff...like going to Cedar City to the Shakespearean Festival or them setting me up on blind dates--that didn't turn out so great! True I don't see them as often as I should but we do keep in touch..and we have little things here and there that we all go to...like lunches or BBQs. And I am also grateful for the new friendships that continue to grow. I am just grateful for friends old and new that have been such a blessing to me!

The picture of my friends and I is a few years old..they have all had a few more kids since then! Melinda and Tifany have had a baby girl within the last two days--Congrats to them!

Broken window

We got our first window break from a golf ball yesterday. I could totally understand it if the window was broken in the back of my house..but no..it was broken in the front of my house. Let me explain, we have 3 windows right in our entry way and the middle one was hit. We were both at work when it happened and I saw it when I was out front looking at a bag of dirt Jared's Dad brought over. It is crazy how bad golfers really are!! Jared has also been sick - we went to the Doctor last night- he has bronchitis..which is never good. SO he of course was not in a happy mood. I think that the golfer that broke the window should be happy that my husband was not home at the time!

Fun Day Out

I had a fun afternoon with my Mom & Grandma today. I met my Mom at the Trax Station after she rode it in from Davis County. We then headed to my Grandma Bruin's house where my Mom gave me a haircut. You would think that because my hair is short it is great for a long time..not the case. I get it cut almost every month and my wonderful hair stylist is my Mother! She does a great job..I don't like going anywhere else because they just mess my hair up. Anyway after I got my haircut my Mom, Grandma and I went out to lunch. We went to Paradise Bakery. I have never been there before, it was so good! I got a Turkey Cranberry sandwich and a bowl of soup..good stuff!

Then we went to see "Mama Mia". I actually really enjoyed this show! I know what you are thinking (Uncle Rich) "She is such a weirdo!" But it was cute and funny. I think that is one movie I will probably buy! It wasn't really what I was expecting! We had a fun day out with the Girls!

Ty & Mare

When I met Jared he had these good friends..Tyler & Marilyn. They have just been such good friends to the both of us. Tyler was the Best Man at our wedding..his Dad died the morning of our wedding & He was still there for us! They moved to California shortly after his Dad died to take over the business but we still keep in contact with them and they visit when the come to Utah. Yesterday afternoon Jared gets a call from Tyler telling him that they are in the airport coming through Utah on there way to Idaho to visit Tyler's family. Jared invited them to stay with us last night. They met us at Polly & Jerl's for dinner..since Polly & Jerl love them too! They had a good visit with them and then we headed to our house for the night. We decided that we would play the Wii...we had so much fun! We all started bowling, which lead to boxing (I haven't laughed so hard in awhile) and finally we played Mario Kart..I am sure they are going to have to buy a Wii when they get home. We stayed up until midnight talking & playing..it was just a great time. We are glad that they called us up on short notice..they are welcome here anytime! We are lucky to call them friends, we love you guys! Hopefully we will see you in February...Disneyland here we come!

Birthday wishes!

WE would like to wish a Happy Birthday to our niece Crenna, and Jared's Dad Jerl is also celebrating his birthday today as well, and my Uncle Rich..whose birthday is tomorrow! We love you all and hope you have great Birthdays!!

Today was not such a good day at work. The teacher I work with was sick so it was just me. Everything was fine until lunch time. The kids eat in the classroom, which means we have to heat up lunches in the microwave if they bring something to warm up. I was helping to get the other kids their lunches and one of the little girls put a Cup o' Noodle in the microwave without water in it. The Styrofoam started to melt..which made this really horrible smell fill the classroom! The whole school could smell it! We ended up eating outside today, which was fine by me! I love to be outside when the weather is good. After lunch we came back in and one of the boys tried to stand up by pulling on our book shelf, which isn't anchored to the wall. It somehow fell (not all the way down of course) and he got a nice bump on his head! I called him Mom to let her know he had this nice bump and we had put ice on it, and she was just fine..no worries! I hope that the Teacher is back in school tomorrow!

Greek Festival

Every year in Salt Lake there is a Greek Festival..this year was the 33rd year- it runs from Thursday night thru Sunday. My brother Jeff loves to go every year and get some good food. We went today with Jeff & Becca and some of their friends from work. My brother loves it so much he went yesterday for his lunch break as well. They have these long lines that you make your way through to get to the food. It is worth the wait! We had a good time and ate some awesome food while we were there. It was fun to go with Jeff & Becca- thanks for the invite! I could not believe the amount of people that were there..it was crazy!

Labor Day & More

For our Labor Day we went to breakfast with Jared's family...parents, Aunts & Uncles, Cousins, even his Mom's cousins came. We all went to the Belgian Waffle House in Murray. It was a nice little get to together and a fun thing to do on Labor Day. Afterwards I made Jared take me to Quilted Bear, and he took me to RC Willey. That evening we had dinner at his parents house. It was a great day off!
.

This is Charlotte- she is a spider that is on our back porch. Jared named her before he found a few other spiders, including black widows and decided that she need to die as well...I don't think he has gotten around to taking care of her just yet!

And we got Missy a new bed for outside. She thinks it is a great toy and has been seen caring it around the yard. The only problem is she leaves it out on the grass for the sprinklers to get it all wet. I don't think she likes that too much.
