Christmas
We had a pretty good Christmas this year. I told Jared a few days before that it didn't feel like Christmas to me because we missed all of our regular Christmas parties this year since we were gone to Mexico.
We got back on Saturday night pretty late. On Sunday we had a family party with Joe's family (my Mom's husband). It was fun, we ate some food and played some games. On Monday I had to finish the last of our Christmas shopping which was pretty crazy with all the last minute shoppers out there. We had our Christmas Eve party at Jared's Mom and Dad's, always good food and his family was there. We opened our presents with his parents...I got a Roomba vacuum (which works great!)and some new sheets for our bed. Jared also got me a decorative ladder that you can change out the signs for the holidays, this was too big to hide at our house so he had his Mom keep it for him.
On Christmas we woke up around 9:30 and opened our presents. Then we went to visit my Grandparents since they had their party while we were gone. We then headed up to my Mom's house for lunch and presents. From my Mom we both received some money(which is always great), Jared got a new sweatshirt and I got a shirt and vest. For dinner we went to Jared's parents again and had a prime rib dinner. It was a busy day!

Color Code Test
I have taken this before but it has been awhile, and my color changed! Here is the link if you would like to take it too.
www.thecolorcode.com
Congratulations. You are BLUE.
BLUES are motivated by INTIMACY. They seek to genuinely connect with others, and need to be understood and appreciated. Everything they do is quality-based. They are loyal friends, employers, and employees. Whatever or whomever they commit to is their sole (and soul) focus. They love to serve and give themselves freely in order to nurture others' lives.
BLUES have distinct preferences and have the most controlling personality. Their personal code of ethics is remarkably strong and they expect others to live honest, committed lives as well. They enjoy meaningful moments in conversation as well as paying close attention to special life events (e.g. birthdays and anniversaries). BLUES are dependable, thoughtful, and analytical; but can also be self-righteous, worry-prone, and moody. They are "sainted pit-bulls" who never let go of something or someone, once they are committed. When you deal with a BLUE, be sincere and make a genuine effort to understand and appreciate them.
Understand that no two BLUES are exactly alike. Although you share the same core motivation as many others, your personality is still unique to you alone.

Sea World
On Tuesday we went to Sea World. It was a beautiful day outside, not a cloud in the sky! WE had a great time. The very first show we went to was the Dolphin show. Andy (Jennie's son who is 5) got to be in the show and actually pet the dolphins! I was so jealous. We sat down towards the bottom of the stadium and got soaked! The rest of the day we dried out until we hit the water rides at the end of the day.
Then we got soaked again. It wasn't too crowded--until the University of Utah Football team and their families showed up! It was kind of fun to see some of the players and know who they were. One of them talked to Jared and asked him if we were going to the game. He told him no, after I told Jared he should have said "What game?"
On Wednesday we went back to San Diego with Josh and Jennie to shop. We were gone all day long. They had a great Outlet mall that we went too.
Today Jared, his Dad, and Josh his brother in law have gone to Ensenada to go fishing. I hope they catch something!

Viva La Mexico
So we made it to Mexico. We left on Friday night on our plane trip to San Diego. That went fine, we each had room next to us on the plane and didn't even sit together. We got to San Diego, got our rental car and found the hotel. As we were unloading our bags I noticed that our rental car had expired plates on it, so we had to go back to the airport on Saturday morning and exchange it for another one. Let me also mention that as soon as we landed Jared was ready to eat at In and Out. So..we got our luggage in the room and Jared and his Dad were on their way to find us some burgers. On Saturday we went again to In and Out..let me tell you that the Young's love that place!
We drove down to Rosartia Beach on Saturday and went to buy groceries for dinner, we all went down to the beach which is right by our hotel. On Sunday we drove down to Ensenada, had lunch and did a little bit of shopping. Jared sister Jennie and her family came in last night. Today we went to the beach and found some pretty cool seashells. And the rest of the day we have just hung out. So far the trip has been great. I love that we can relax and enjoy the warm weather. I will upload our pictures when I have my camera around. Tomorrow we are going to Sea World.

What a mess!
Jared woke me up bright and early this morning to let me know that our basement was flooding! Yes that is right, flooding! He went downstairs before work to find his favorite jeans in the wash and the carpet was soaking wet. I am so glad our basement is not finished or it would have been even a bigger mess than it was. We laid the towels down and swept out some water (just to do it again an hour later). When Jared got home from work we put our little pump for our pond down in the window well and sucked all of the water out. It was a lot of water. We were outside for about 2 hours in the rain (that turned to snow) getting all of the water out. It totally soaked the carpet on our landing downstairs--hopefully the little space heater will dry it out. What a fun way to spend a Friday night! I just hope it doesn't happen again.

The first week of December
This week has been a busy one for me. Monday night Jared called from work at about 5:50 p.m. and told me that he got Jazz tickets for the game! Dinner was already in the oven so I took it out put it in the fridge and out the door I went. The game was really fun and the seats weren't horrible- and the Jazz won which was great.
Tuesday I got the wonderful privilege of going to the Dentist. That is not my type of fun but I was only going in for a teeth cleaning.
The Dentist also said that my infection in my gums in my front teeth is clearing up so I should be able to get new crowns soon which is good news to me since I can't bite into anything!
Wednesday was Girls Night Out hosted by Lindsay. It was good food and fun to chat with the girls. I love to listen to the stories, and I don't say much but I have a good time! I am starting to really love my ward since I am getting to know more and more people, it is hard being in Nursery where I only know the kids! So GNO is a good thing for me and I am glad I can go!
Friday I have a temple sealing to attend..that should be nice. And then we will go to dinner afterward.
I am looking forward to the weekend, not that things will slow down. We have so much to do before we leave for Mexico next week! What a crazy week it has been!

Missy
We woke up to a world of white! The snow is still coming down outside. Jared was at work this morning fixing his Mom's car so I got to shovel. Missy (that would be our dog) was loving it. She has this rope thing we bought her last year that she loves. We can throw it and she will go and bring it back to us. She was running around like crazy outside in the snow, slipping and sliding on the driveway. She would have to find her rope in the snow and she would come back to me all white! I am glad that our driveway is so small..and not as steep as our house in Kearns. It was a fun morning playing outside!

Crazy shoppers
We got up at 3:00 a.m. to go shopping! Yes I know we are some of the crazy people out there that wanted a good deal. We met up with Jared's mom at 4:00 a.m. at Kohls where some guy got a little bit mad at Jared for not waiting in the long line before he walked in the door. It would have been fine if we wouldn't have seen this guy again but he ended up being at the checkout next to ours and of course they had to have a few more words. The store worker came over and told them both they would have to leave or they would call the police..at this point I was done and Polly was in the check out so it was fine, and we left. I was paranoid the rest of the morning that we would run into Jared's "friend" again but we didn't!
AND--we got some good deals at Target and other places. We even went to breakfast at Ihop at 5:30 a.m. The crazy thing is Jared had to work at 8:00. I am sure by the time he gets home tonight he is going to be so tried! I got home around noon..took my shower, wrapped my presents and layed on the couch where I fell asleep for a few hours! Another Black Friday come and gone! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Reasons to be Thankful
There are so many reasons to be thankful this time of year. I know that this won't cover all of them but here are a few:
1.I am thankful for my husband Jared- he does so much for me each and every day. I don't think I tell him enough how I appreciate all that he does for me..I love you!
2.My parents- they are always supportive of whatever I choose to do and they love me no matter what.
3.My brother Jeff is so great! I am happy that I have him in my life.
4.My sister Krista is one of my best friends.
5.My nieces and nephews- Treyton, Braelyn, Kennedy, Ethan, Crenna, Maya, Andy, Aaron & Anson. They make me happy! And I love having them around to spoil.
6. The gospel...having that in my life makes me happy. I am grateful to know that all that I mentioned above can be with me forever if we all do what we are suppose to do! I am grateful for that knowledge.
7. My home- I am grateful that Jared & I have our own home again. I don't think it really matters where it is..as long as we are there together (thanks for teaching me that Kristin).
8. My job- I love working with kids and I am grateful that I can do that. Sometimes I get a little bit stressed out but at the end of the day there is always something that one of the kids does that makes me laugh..and I am grateful for that.
9. My health..I am so grateful that I am healthy.
10. My freedom- I am grateful that I have freedom to be able to worship I as I want, that I can live where I want and live as I want.
11. My extended family- I am grateful for all of my Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles and my cousins. I have so many fun memories of growing up, I wish we could do more as a family still but I realize that it is hard with everyone getting older and starting their own traditions. But I will always cherish the memories I have. I am grateful for the influence of my Grandparents on my life..they are wonderful examples to me. And I am grateful for my Aunts & Uncles..they are so important in my life, I hope that they know how much I love all of them.
12. My in-laws..I know most people might not say this but I have great in-laws. They have done so much for Jared and I and I am grateful to be a part of their family.
13. Good books to read--I love to read so I would be very sad without a good book in my hands.
14. My friends- I have some great friends..old friends and new friends. I am grateful for them for putting up with me, for their friendship through the years and I hope we can make new memories together and continue to be friends.
15. I am grateful for holidays- it gives me a reason to change the decorations in my house!
There are many reasons to be thankful this time of year..I hope we can all take just a minute to remember how much we have in our lives!

Garth Brooks on the Big Screen
I went with Jared's mom Polly last night to a Garth Brooks concert that was at Jordan Landing. The concert was in Kansas City and then broadcast to a bunch of movie theaters. I thought this was a bit odd..but the concert was actually pretty good. The theater stayed pretty quiet (so no need for ear plugs) and there wasn't the crazy crowd when we left. I had a pretty fun time!

Bye Bye Liberty
We sold our Liberty. It was on KSL for a few weeks (maybe a month) and we finally sold it! Jared really wants a new Jeep Wrangler so we have one on order, just the way he wants it. I am not even sure if they have even started building it yet. It will be silver. My two color options were blue and silver. I chose blue, and Jared decided on silver! Hopefully it will be done by the end of the year. Until then his parents are going to let us borrow their car. What nice in-laws I have!

Dinner with Dad
My Dad and Aunt Jeanne came up to SLC this week. Jared and I went out to dinner with them on Monday night to the Asian Star. We love Chinese food and that place is so good. The food is a little bit pricey but you always have leftovers to take home and eat the next day. It was good to see my Dad - the last time I saw him was in July when my cousin Jake got married. I don't see him enough- I don't think Mesquite is that far away but we just don't get down there very often. I think that after the first of the year we will go and visit him & Deb.

Field Trip
The second grade class I work with went on a Field Trip today. It started off with a charter bus picking us up at the school as soon as the bell rang. It wasn't any old school bus, it was a nice bus that had a DVD player (which was great for keeping the kids quiet). We went to "This is the Place Heritage Park". I have lived in Utah my whole life and I have never been there before. It was a fun day for us. We got to learn how the pioneers lived when they came into the Salt Lake Valley. We visited a little log cabin that had a family of 13 living in it. A one room cabin! I think my house is cramped sometimes and it is Jared and I. We got to visit the Barber Shop and some of the boys got "shaved" by the Barber. We ate our lunches and then we got to go on a train ride around the park. Overall I think the experience was great. The kids got to see what they are actually learning about in class and they were so tired when we got back to the school! They should sleep so good for their parents tonight.

New Grass
Our grass is growing..not very fast but it is growing. I am so glad that is actually took off and started to grow! We were afraid that the weather was too cold or that the wind blew it away- I can't believe how windy it is out here! We came home on Monday to find 5 golf balls in our backyard (there was a golf tournament) we still have 2 out there because we don't want to walk on the grass yet.
Only about 30 kids came trick or treating. I think it is because we live on a road that is so dark, no street lights! And no one knows who we are yet since I am in the Nursery and have been since we moved in. I think next year we are going to go to a movie and leave the candy on the porch!

Anniversary Weekend
Sunday Oct. 28th was our 3rd Anniversary. I can't believe it has been 3 years already! Time sure went by fast. We decided this year to go to the Anniversary Inn in Logan. We had a fun time staying in the "Hollywood Romance Theater". The tub was great with a little tv right there by it...a big jetted tub! It was wonderful to relax! The Ranches HOA had a great deal where you pay $133.00 and then you can choose any room at any location for that price! We decided on one of the most expensive rooms because of the great deal. In fact we might just go and buy another gift certificate and wait to use it- they are good for a year. We had a great time while we were there, we drove by the Logan Temple- I had never seen it before. We went shopping in Logan and ate at the "Griss Mill"- they had really good food. It was a nice little get-a-away for Jared and I.
After we came home last night we decided to carve our pumpkins. This is not Jared's favorite thing to do but he will do it because I like to carve pumpkins. I should say he doesn't like to take all of the slimy stuff out, but he likes to carve them. And he likes to eat the seeds after I have cooked them. We had a pretty good time, even though the one I did looks nothing like the picture of the ghost! I hope now that the kids around here come Trick-or-Treating!
Here is a picture of our house for those of you who haven't seen it yet.

Tagged again!
I got tagged again! I really am not that interesting--hopefully I can think of 6 things to say!
The rules: Player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and posts a comment letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read our blog for the rules.
1- I love to read. I find it really relaxing, but it has to be a book that really can pull me in. Most of the books I read are LDS books I can find at Seagull book or something like that.
2- I knocked out my two front teeth when I was in 9th grade. I was at my brothers baseball game on the bleachers and I tripped on something (probably my own two feet) and fell from the top of the bleachers to the bottom. I knocked my teeth completely out..they were put back in and I had to have a splint across my teeth for a few months. As a result I have had root canals (twice) and crowns. Now my crowns are breaking apart (thanks to the second root canals) and they will have to be replaced. It is a pain because I can't bite into anything! I know I look very strange to people when I have to cut up everything!
3- I love being an Aunt. I don't have kids of my own yet so I love to spoil my nieces and nephews. They are awesome kids!
4-I love shoes! When I got married Jared told me I had to get rid of some shoes because I had too many! I gave away probably 10 pair...and I still have too many for our closet. We just found some in a box that I haven't worn in a year..they have been packed away!
5- I am not a huge chocolate fan..but I love sunflower seeds! Once again due to my teeth it is hard for me to eat them!
6- I love to decorate for holidays--doesn't matter which one it is. I don't have much for some holidays and probably way too much for others.
I tag- Kristin Muir, Annaliese Cox, Megan Dean, Jennie Hatch (make that blog already!), Holly Blackhurst, Rebecca Van Wagenen (time to start that blog!), and one more Suzie Scherer (if you can find the time to start your blog :)

Snow!
We woke up to snow this morning..now it wasn't a ton of snow but a few inches! It was kind of nice to see..and the best part is, it already melted! Our grass is slowly coming in out back..we see little green blades coming up. With the snow we have a big mud pit out back. And we finally got some neighbors, it was a few weeks ago that they moved in. They seem very nice.
This week not much happened. Yesterday we went from Target to Wal mart looking for "Cars" and "Transformers". We found the double pack of Bumblebee that Krista wanted and got one for us. We decided to go to Provo to dinner at the "Brick Oven". That place was awesome! I had never been there before and I just might have found a new favorite place to eat.

A fun day!
Today I went to lunch with Jared's Aunt Donna, Aunt Patrice and cousin Elizabeth . We went to Gardner Village and had fried green tomatoes! They were so good, I also had the Tortilla soup..that was yummy! After lunch we walked around and saw all the decorations for Halloween. I bought a sunflower yard stake for our yard and a cute little chap stick with an "M" on the wrapper. That is a fun place to go this time of year. After we got done there Aunt Donna and I went and had pedicures! This was the second one I have had..both I got when Aunt Donna has been here from Alaska. It was so much fun! I love being pampered! Thanks Aunt Donna for a fun day!

Will it grow?
We planted our grass out back last week. The big question is will it grow? Jared seems to think that the frost came and killed it, or the rain came and washed it away. We don't have a little backyard, our front yard is pretty small. The backyard is almost done, expect for the grass! Jared & his Dad have spent many nights the past few months slaving away! The sprinklers are in, the curbs are in, the fence is up (all except the front part which the builder is suppose to do), the pond is a work in progress! Now we hope that the grass will grow! I will be so happy to have grass in the backyard, I am so sick of the dirt and mud coming into my house. And Missy (our dog) will be so happy to have somewhere to live other than the garage! And I am sure the golfers will love her as well...we hope she won't bark at them too much!

The Love Story
I thought this would be fun to do since it is almost our anniversary! I love to hear about how other people met!
1. Where did you meet your husband? We met online at LDSsingles. Jared started talking to me one night on there and asked me out. I was pretty busy at the time so I said it would have to wait. We ended meeting officially at our friend Melinda's little get together in Provo. We both went to the party..he came with a date! I thought that was the end of that.
2. What was the first thing you said to your husband? I probably said hi the first night. He on the other hand had no idea it was me..He thought I looked nothing like the picture I had on the website. He didn't have a picture up so I didn't know what to expect!
3. Where was your first date? Our first date was on a Wednesday night. We went out to dinner at Macaroni Grill. Then we went to see the Christmas lights on Temple Square. Afterward we went and got hot chocolate.
4. Where was your first kiss? It was at Jared's house. I was leaving for my cruise the next day, He wanted to make sure I remembered him.
5. How long did you date? We dated from December to May
6. Did you have a long or a short engagement? It was way too long! Six months! We could have done it much sooner but Krista (my sister) was having a baby that summer and I wanted to give her time to get better. And my birthday was in September so I didn't want it that month--I had to think about the gifts!
7. Where did you get engaged? At Jared's house..he made up a little scavenger hunt in his house that I had to do. He made up cute little poems for each room. At the end there was roses and an Italian charm bracelet with a charm that said "Will you marry me?". He was waiting downstairs with my ring and he got down on one knee and asked me.
8. When and Where were you married? October 28, 2004 in the Salt Lake Temple
9. How did the reception go? I thought it went pretty well. It was a rainy day..that much I remember. We had soup and salad, which was good considering the weather. We had an Open House in California-the building was double booked and we had to change our plans a few days before, but it all worked out.
10. How was the honeymoon? On our wedding night we stayed at the Anniversary Inn. We love that place now! In January 2005 we took a cruise to the Mexican Riviera! We are really want to go back next year!
11. Now I tag: Everyone! I would love to know how you met!

The Big 30!
I turned 30..I don't really feel 30. My friend Tifany said that 30 isn't that bad..she is almost 31 so maybe she has to say that! The day went pretty good. I had to work all day- but the kids at work made it fun. At lunch time they brought me two big posters that they had all signed and sang Happy Birthday. Anytime someone new would come into the room they made sure to let them know it was my birthday!
We went to dinner last night with the family. My Mom and Joe, Jeff and his kids Kennedy & Ethan, Krista and her kids Treyton & Braelyn, Jared's parents Polly & Jerl, and Crenna & Maya. We went to the Spagetti Factory which is my favorite place! It was a fun day and I grateful for everyone who sent me a Birthday wish or spent the day with me! I have to say so far 30 isn't all that bad!

BYU Football
Yesterday we went to the BYU football game..my first ever college game! There was like 65,000 screaming fans in the stands! My Mother-in-law Polly LOVES BYU. She is the biggest fan I have ever seen, so she was pretty excited to go. We missed the haka dance and the kickoff which Polly was not very happy about..but we had to eat lunch before the game, lets get our priorities straight! During the first half there was a guy behind us that poured his drink down Jared's back..he wasn't very happy about that! And the guy didn't even apologize to Jared, which I thought was rude. The 4th quarter the rain started to come down pretty good. I decided I didn't love BYU that much and went to stand under the shelter of the bleachers while everyone else got wet! In the end BYU won 31-6. I think I could handle one game a year! Jared said next time it might just have to be a Utah game!

Big Brother ends yet again!
I have never done this before, made a blog that is. And really I don't know what I will talk about but I thought it would be fun to give it a try. The name I choose is pretty cheesy! Jared and I aren't all that creative and that is the best we could come up with. He thinks I am pretty weird for wanting to make a blog anyway!
My favorite tv show of the summer is ending tonight..Big Brother. For some odd reason I love that show. I got hooked a few summers back and now every summer I watch it. The sad thing is this summer I had a DVR so I could record every episode and watch it when I had time, it is my addicting! It has been fun to watch. The two people in the house I really didn't like was Dick and Danielle and they are the final two! I don't really know who I would vote for..Danielle I guess since she has played a better game then her Dad. I will have to watch tonight to see who wins!
