Jared woke me up bright and early this morning to let me know that our basement was flooding! Yes that is right, flooding! He went downstairs before work to find his favorite jeans in the wash and the carpet was soaking wet. I am so glad our basement is not finished or it would have been even a bigger mess than it was. We laid the towels down and swept out some water (just to do it again an hour later). When Jared got home from work we put our little pump for our pond down in the window well and sucked all of the water out. It was a lot of water.
We were outside for about 2 hours in the rain (that turned to snow) getting all of the water out. It totally soaked the carpet on our landing downstairs--hopefully the little space heater will dry it out.What a fun way to spend a Friday night! I just hope it doesn't happen again.

What a Mess!! Good thing you didnt have the basement finished.
Oh, I'm sorry! That's awful! Do you know what caused it? Was it just too much rain or did a pipe brake?
