End of School
Today was the last day of school. I worked with Mrs. Varner this year and she is from Hawaii. We also had two girls in our class that have parents from Hawaii. To celebrate the last day of school we had a luau. It was great. The food was awesome! They made this pineapple with a seasoning on it- it was sooo good! The kids learned how to hula..and they made some grass skirts to wear. They all looked so cute. The Mom in charge bought Mrs. Varner and I a lei..it was beautiful. It was a great school year. Some of the kids I will definitely miss..others not so much! Mrs. Varner is moving to 6th grade next year..I will be with a new teacher. I am sure she will be great too. The kids made these cute paper bouquets of flowers..and a very nice card to go with it. They all had to give us hugs as they were leaving.
For the summer I am going to work with SL county Recreation in Sandy doing their summer program called Super Seekers. I think it will be lots of fun! Tons of great field trips & places to visit this summer.

Sick of problems!
WE were suppose to get some sod for our backyard this weekend..now it might not happen. Jared called this local landscape company and they told him what sod farm to go to..and to tell them they were getting sod from this landscape company for our yard, and then we would put it in ourselves- that was last week. Well today the sod farm calls Jared and tells him that since it isn't for this landscaping company we don't get the good price, they were going to up the price on us.For some reason after the landscaper talked to Jared and told him to call this place with his name the sod farm called the landscaper and the landscaper didn't back us up..it makes no sense! Jared told them he just wants his money back and we will go somewhere else and give them the money. I am getting tired of these stinkin companies that are just in to make a profit! I know they have to stay in business somehow but it isn't like they weren't getting money for the sod in the first place. The landscaper shouldn't have told us anything if he wasn't willing to help out in the end! On another note..our builder has filed for bankruptcy..doesn't really surprise me, he is a piece of work! SO now we have all of these unfinished things we have to do like finish the front fence (which we were told they would do in 4 weeks...which was months ago) fix the paint patches they left on our house, get our front walk fixed...so we have to file a claim and submit to the courts to try and get some money from the builder....Oh the fun of being a homeowner! Jared says we will never build a new house again, I think I agree.

This week was Teacher Appreciation week at my school. The kids in my class are so cute. They loved bringing us gifts. I got so many things from the great kids in my class....flowers to plant in my yard, gift cards to the movies, lotion, bath stuff, candy, chocolate dipped strawberries, a free smoothie, math flash cards, and more...they were all so great! Last night we used one of those movie gift cards and went to see a much anticipated movie...it was AWESOME!! That was one movie worth going to see.
We are going to a BBQ tonight up at my Mom's house..should be fun!

Race
Jared & Jeff (my brother) went out to the Miller Motor Sports Park today to the LeMans series races. They have gone for the past 3 years and they have a great time! I am glad I have a brother that loves stuff like that as much as my husband so he has someone to go with that would enjoy it- I did go the first year and it was really hot! They said it was really hot out there today but they had a great time watching the race and checking out the cars.

Lunch & a Movie
We went to lunch today with Jeff & Becca. We met up at the Gateway downtown and went to eat at Costa Aveda..the food was pretty good. After that we went and saw What Happens in Vegas. This movie was really funny! It was a fun day out. Jeff is going to spend the night out here tonight because tomorrow Jared & Jeff are going to the races at Miller Motor Sports Park, so tonight we will play Mario Kart on the Wii...should be fun!

Cabo
We went to Cabo last week..got home last night. It was a fun trip.
We got to Cabo on Tuesday and went and checked into our room..the room was great with two bedrooms and a hot tub on the patio, which was too hot for us to even use. We stayed in that room 4 nights and then switched to a one bedroom with a murphy bed that was horrible! IT was so hard to sleep on, Jared and I had to move the pillows off of the couch and put them on the bed which we had put on the floor! Anyway back to what we did..
Wednesday we went to another time share presentation and got $240 which paid for our lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. After that we went on a Glass Bottom Boat around Lands End, that was really fun.
Thursday we went for a walk on the beach by our timeshare...there was signs posted about how dangerous the undertow was there but we didn't really pay any attention. Jared went and put his goggles and snorkel on and got knocked down a few times..the last time the wave knocked him over and he lost his goggles and snorkel, we could not find them anywhere! We both got knocked over by a wave in the process and cut our legs up on the rocks. He was not happy! We did end up going to Walmart where he found another set. We went over to Jennie's to help watch the kids while Crenna got a perm. They have a nice pool right by there house. That night for dinner we went to a Taco Shop in the middle of Cabo which Jared loved! The tacos were pretty good but I love Americanized food but I did try them.
Friday we did a little shopping in the morning and then we went over to Jennie's for Maya's birthday they decided once again to go to Hard Rock for dinner. Jared and I went and ate at Johnny Rockets..pretty good burgers. Afterwards we all went back to the house to change for Maya's baptism. We followed Jennie over there no problem but they have gates around the chapels and they were locked. She told us to just go around the block and find a spot. The roads are set up so they have all these one way streets...needless to say we got lost and drove around for 20+ minutes looking for the church. We finally decided we would just head back to the hotel when Jennie called wondering where we went. Josh came and found us and took us back to the church an hour late! We were the program... I said the opening prayer, Jared's Mom gave a talk and Jared was the closing prayer.
Saturday we played on the beach all day. We went to one beach for snorkeling and another for body board surfing. IT was fun!
Sunday we went to Jennie's for dinner and sat in the hottub!
Monday We did a little bit more shopping, and went to the beach where Jared's nieces who are 8 & 9 went Para sailing! They loved it. We ate at a great place called "No Bad Days"
Tuesday we came home!
I think it was a great trip! It sure was hard to get up this morning and go to work!

We have lived in our house for exactly one year today! That year sure flew by...we love living out here, how quiet it is, the neighbors we have are great. Last year at this time I think we were moving in boxes and trying to unpack, I am glad that is not something I have to do again in the near future because moving is such a pain!
