4th of July 4 wheeling

On the 4th of July we went 4 wheeling with my Aunt Sarah & Uncle John. We went up American Fork Canyon. It is a fun thing to do with our family & I know that Jared loves for us to go - even if he scares me to death on some of the things he tries to make the jeep go up. It was a fun day.

Maren turned 3

We have a three year old! What!! Where has the time gone? Maren turned three on April 30. She is such a fun, stubborn, happy, emotional little girl. There are so many reasons we love her every day and some days she drives me crazy! I would not trade her for the world- although sometimes I tell her she is going to make me go crazy! She is a busy, busy girl who loves to be outside and loves her Mickey Mouse.

Disneyland Trip April 2013

Back in April we took a trip to Disneyland over Spring Break. It was CRAZY busy. We had a such a good time and Maren loved it. We went for a week- 3 days at Disneyland.
One of the mornings we had breakfast with Minnie Mouse and friends inside the park. We loved that. That is something we would do again for sure. Of course she also loved the beach, she is just like her Dad that way. She did not want to leave the water.

 

 

Grandma Bruin

My Grandma Bruin - my Mom's Mom - lost her battle with cancer on New Years Eve 2012. She was 77 years old. That just does not seem old enough to me to leave this life. She was an important part of my life, always there at anything important for me. She was my escort when I went through the temple in 2000 on my 23rd birthday. She was the one to help me get ready in the temple on my wedding day. I know that she loved me very much. We found out how sick she was just two days after Christmas. The cancer had traveled to her lungs & was terminal. I thought we would have a few months left together but Heavenly Father had different plans in mind. I am glad she did not suffer long, it was hard. It still is unreal to me that she is not here anymore, but knowing what I know, I will see her again. She's now watching over me from heaven. I believe her next goal in heaven is to send us down another little baby, I'm ready when you are Grandma! I love you forever!!

4 wheeling

In June we went with a few friends up American Fork Canyon and went 4 wheeling in Jared's jeep. We had a great time, Maren still talks about the bumpy rocks and Matt (he came with us). She loved it!

Recent pictures of Maren- she is growning up so fast. She talks a mile a minute and tells us all kinds of things. She is a joy to have in our house- most of the time! She can be a little bit of  a princess when she does not get her way. We sure love her!

Two weeks left of my summer break then back to work. We went to panguitch lake the beginning of July but haven't done much since. I retook the praxis test- passed reading and writing & missed the math by one point!! One point!! That's like 1/2 a question. Which means I have to take it again! It stinks!! But, it's gotta be done so I can move on in school.

This school year flew by! I can't believe it's over already. I think this year was much better because of the teacher I worked with. I will be with her again next year, she is wonderful! Working with great people makes all the difference. It will be interesting to see what happens when I graduate, that is still a few years away, it will be hard to leave the school I am at, I love it there!

Life just seems busy. I think it's that way with going to school, working & raising a very active & curious toddler! I just finished my foundations of education class , math 213. One math class to go! Prayers that I survive it would be appreciated! Spring break has much needed this week. Maren will be two in a few short weeks! Where has the time gone? We love that little girl!

Missy

Our sweet dog Missy passed away during the night. We knew she was feeling well because she was not eating like she normally does. Jared had planned to get up in the morning and take her to the vet. She was a good dog, hardly ever barked and was so loving. She would have been 10 in September. We will sure miss her!

I am finished with 2 of my math classes. The second algebra class I got a B in it. I'm good with that. Math is super hard for me, it is the reason I put off going back to school for so long. I still have 2 math classes to go, those are teaching for elementary math, I am hoping that since I already teach elememetary math I can pass those classes with no problem. I am actually looking forward to taking mythology next, give me a paper to write over math any day!!

Still alive, just super busy with work & school. Not sure if anyone actually reads my blog anyway!

7th Annivesary

Jared and I just celebrated our 7th anniversary! How did that come so fast? The years just seem to go by faster and faster for me. This year we went for a night away to the Anniversary Inn. My Mom was so very nice and came and stayed with Maren overnight so we could go. We stayed in the Jackson Hole Suite. It had a covered wagon bed, and the shower had bottles that came off of a shelf for the shower. It was a nice, relaxing little mini vacation for us. It was nice to be together- just the two of us and have some alone time. I was ready to come home and see my daughter again as well, that was our first night away from our 18th month old. It was a great anniversary! Still love you Jared after 7 great years!

Now I am in the middle of my third class in school. It is a Creative Writing class, then comes History and then the dreaded Math, two classes of Math! I hope with all the online tutors and help from everyone it won't be so bad. Please start praying for me now. It starts on November 10th!

First class is done! Hope the next one goes as smooth!

Back to work tomorrow- this summer flew by even though we did nothing. I was home with Maren, that is what counts! Looking forward to working with 3rd graders this school year.
Almost done with my first class as well. It ends on August 25th, we get to write a team paper and have a presentation that night. Should be fun!

School starts for me on Thursday. My first class..gen ed 200, where we are going to learn about managing our time, stress and our goals. I am a little nervous and hope I can do this..especially the math classes!

William Xander

My new nephew William Xander was born on Monday June 27 at 4:19 pm. He weighed 9 pounds 6 ounces and 20 1/2 inches. Cute little guy

Not much is happening at this point in time. I am not working- since it is summer- and home with Maren. It has been fun being with her not that we do much. We did get the pool key last week and took her swimming. She wasn't very fond of it at first but after we kept her in for awhile she seemed to like it better. Hopefully the weather will warm up so we can go more often. This week we are going to the zoo, and then next week sometime Krista and her family will come from Vegas because Becca will have her baby- Zander next week. We are excited for that.

Baby Contest

Today we went to the Eagle Mountain City Baby Contest. We entered Maren in her age group which was 11-14 months. She took 2nd. She had to impress some old lady judges- she smiled but didn't do much else. They loved her red hair and blue eyes.
